I'm using my IBM laptop (Vista Ultimate 32b) on a docking station, on which i
installed a PNY graphic card (GeForce 8400 GS). I attached a Samsung 17' LCD
screen, whcih runs 1024x1280 native resolution. My laptop runs 1024x768. The
PNY graphic cards supports 1920x1200.
When i first installed the grpahic card and the LCD monitor, it had windows
default driver which allowed me to run native 1024x1280 for the LCD, however
the graphic card performance/setting were wrong/poor and not optimized.
After installing the correct Nvidia drivers for the G-card, the latter is
now running very well. But I am now limited/forced to 1024x768 settings on
the LCD. Vista nor Nvidia would let me let me increase/set the resolution to
native settings of the LCD, which is 1024x1280.
Please note that in this setup, I am not running dual-monitor mode. Only the
Samsung monitor is operating and my laptop screen is (by default) turned off.
What I would like is to be able to set the Samsung LCD to its native screen
resolution.
Please help. many thanx.
