I downloaded an virus, apparently named JS/Phish! Now I am constantly hit
with sites that want to sell me virus software. One frequent pop-up is a
warning that I have "Trojan W32 Looksky" and download this software to fix.
They have taken over my IE home site. and have constant pop-ups. Ran AVG and
it found JS/Phish and healed it, it said, but no change. Ran MS oneCare and
it said that there was no problem after about four hours. Problems seems to
be getting better than yesterday or I am getting faster at deleting the
popups. Running MS2000 and IE 7.0. AVG has kept me viral free for over four
years. At wits end.

Try Stinger

to see if it's in the list of ones it removes

Sounds more like a browser hijack than a virus per se. AVG (and others)
my not help much with that although you could try the "AVG Anti Spyware"
scanner. they have a free one on their website. Other programs such as
"Hijack This" may help.

Try a Google search.

Sounds like you want to install and run "Spybot Search & Destroy".
