Hi Folks,
I've had a problem with my XP machine and have had to dig out an old
computer with Win2K Server. This computer had never been connected to
the internet before but as soon as I connected I received some version
of the GOTCHA virus.
I had to reformat the HD and reinstall the OS but within minutes of
re-connecting (through a dial-up connection) I was infected again.
I bought McAfee VirusScan Plus but it won't install on this machine. I
don't know if it's because the OS is a server version, because it's an
x86 processor or both.
I also tried Avast with the same results.
Anyone know of a way to protect this machine while connecting through
dial-up?
Thank you for your help.
