When I force a GP update, gpupdate /force, it gives me an error that:
Log Name: System
Source: Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy
Date: 11/28/2007 1:16:31 PM
Event ID: 1055
Task Category: None
Level: Error
Keywords:
User: MYDOMAIN\Swood
Computer: workstation.domain.com
Description:
The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not resolve the
computer name. This could be caused by one of more of the following:
a) Name Resolution failure on the current domain controller.
b) Active Directory Replication Latency (an account created on another
domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller).
This workstation has been in our Windows 2003 domain for some time and it
resolves all our domain controller names without problem. I can nslookup my
system as well as the domain controllers / dns servers.
The curious thing is that I am getting the corrrect GPOs although I'm
getting this message. Anyone got any ideas where to look for further info on
this error?
