Shortcuts per application wich auto log in in a Terminal Server

I'm installing several Terminal Servers per month and i install them and
publish a desktop to user. Now i have heard from a colleague that he has seen
a customer wich uses shortcuts on the desktop pc per application wich start
the application on the Terminal Server without logging in.

It looks like Citrix, but this isn't the case in my situation.

Is this possible with Microsoft Terminal Server alone, without using any 3rd
party software?

This is a feature of Windows 2008 TS, with Remote Applications (which
is very similar in behaviour to Citrix published applications).

You can sort of mimic this behaviour on Windows 2003 by creating a
different .rdp file for every application, create a shortcut to it on
the desktop, configure a different starting application in every rdp
file and also store the user credentials in the rdp file to mimic
single signon. That's a lot of manual configuration, though.

Re: Shortcuts per application wich auto log in in a Terminal Serve

In this case it is just for one application, so this could be a solution.
Thank you for your help at this subject and maybe you could help me with one
more.

I have posted some days before a topic about importing a certificate for all
users who are logging in a terminal server situation.

How can i publish a certificate wich will be available for all users?

One way is to import is per session. In my case it will be 7 times, but i
can imagine that a company of 100 users don't like it to do, so there must be
a way to do, but i can't find it.

Can you help me with this?

I've seen your certificate question, Remco, both here and on
MSTerminalServices.org.
I haven't answered because I don't know. The term "autoenrollment"
comes to mind, but I've never worked with certificates on a TS.
