Is there a GPO setting for removing temporary internet files?. I know the
standard win 2003 GPO wont do this, but wondered if this can be added in an
ADM file.

This is an example file from www.gruppenrichtlinien.de - a German Group
Policy site:

CLASS USER

CATEGORY "Custom Changes for Internet Explorer"

POLICY "Delete temporary internet files on close"
KEYNAME "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache"
VALUENAME "Persistent"
VALUEON NUMERIC 0 VALUEOFF NUMERIC 1
END POLICY
END CATEGORY

Beware of the evil line break!

Florian

I have managed to locate a local policy on windows 2003 that does this at

USER Configuration\Admin Templates\windows components\Internet
Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Advanced page\
- Empty Temporary Internet files Folder when browser is closed (enable)

The option is not available by default on the domain policy.

I am interested in your post. Are you suggesting a custom policy can be
created. If so, how?

The "code" I provided in my first post, you need to save as whatever.adm
- it's just a text file. Beware of the line breaks! Back in the Group
Policy Editor on a Domain Controller, you right-click "Administrative
Templates" and choose "Add/Remove Template...". Choose the whatever.adm
template. After that, right-click the "Custom changes for Internet
Explorer" folder you see now and choose "View"->"Filtering" and uncheck
all boxes that say "Only show..".
