solidworks and antivirus conflicts?

Okay, this is an annoying problem. I built a new machine with an Intel Core2
Duo and Intel 965 board, 8gb ram, nvidia quadro fx560 and xp pro x64. Our
company runs Solidworks, COSMOSWorks. The install was standard and I
installed all the updates. The only thing I had a problem with is finding a
functional audio driver which isn't a problem because this machine doesn't
need audio to do what it was built to do. I got all the other drivers
working just fine and just disabled the audio. I set it up on our domain and
installed Solidworks Premium and COSMOSWorks. After it is all installed, I
run the program and open up an assembly. It opens, WOW, super fast, and the
views can be rotated flawlessly. I close the program and load our antivirus,
AVG (we are going to a different one soon) and biggity-bam, the thing runs
like crap. Remove the A/V and it works great again. Seeing that AVG does
not support x64, I set out to try and pinpoint the issue. I installed NOD32,
Trend Micro Office Scan 8 and Avast with all the same results. Mind you I
disabled the real-time scanner when trying to load Solidworks. I still got
the same old molasses speed. I remove the A/V software, reboot and magically
everything works fabulous again. I also tried increasing the pagefile max
and min and changing the processor scheduling from Programs to Background
Services. I did not try changing the memory usage. Multitasking on this
beast is also a pain. Any advice or fixes for this issue. We don't really
want to have a machine on the network without protection because it
absolutely needs to be able to access network resources/files in order for it
to do what it is supposed to do. Please help!
