Is there a way that I can use Cut 'n Paste from my TS desktop screen to my
Active Desktop screen?

RE: Cut 'n Paste between TS desktop and Active Desktop

if a GPO is connected, could a setting cause this NOT to be available? If
so, where is the setting?

I believe that you have to allow drive redirection.

Is that in the Remote Desktop options under Local Resources?

That's where you have to enable it on the client, yes. It also
needs to be allowed on the server, in Terminal Services
Configuration - rdp-tcp connection - properties - Client Settings

made the settings but did not change anything. Does it matter that the
Terminal Server is in Application Mode vs Remote Admin mode?

No, that makes no difference.
Can you start Task Manager inside an rdp session and check if
rdpclip is amongst the running processes?

yes, I see it. BTW...just informed that there is a Group Policy that is
assigned to the users of this Terminal Server. Is there anything in Group
Policy that may forbit Cut 'n Paste in Terminal Server?

RE: Cut 'n Paste between TS desktop and Active Desktop

Yes, but then you would not have been able to enable it on the
server, settings which are configured in a GPO are grayed out in
Terminal Services Configuration.
But if you are not in charge of the configuration of the TS through
GPO, you should speak to the people who are. It's much faster to
ask them than to let us in the ng guess :-)

RE: Cut 'n Paste between TS desktop and Active Desktop

I checked with the person who setup the GPO and he states that he did not set
any conditions to disallow Cut'nPaste. So, I'm at a loss. I did, however,
ask to check to see if another Terminal Server also could not cut'npaste and
we discovered that it could do it. However, that server is not a DC nor is
it in Application mode.

RE: Cut 'n Paste between TS desktop and Active Desktop

had a chance to see , first hand, what the problem is by over-the-shoulering
the user. She is taking a Word document and cutting several phrases from it
and then opens a notepad on her active desktop. She then tries to Paste the
entries into the notepad. It does not do it, however.

I've tried to reverse the process by doing the same thing from her active
desktop document and then open a notepad on the TS session and paste. Does
not work, either.

However, when I try this same procedure on "another" Terminal Server.... it
works fine.

As the administrator of the TS server, I also tried it.....failed, too.

Any ideas?
