Has anyone been able to successfully set up their Palm Desktop OS for a Palm
Zire (not Zire21, Zire31, or Z22, just plain old Zire) so that the Hotsync
function works properly?

I have tried downloading and installing the PalmDesktopWin62Beta version
that Palm offers, but no information is exchanged during Hotsync.

Then, per information found on Palm Support, I uninstalled the Beta version
and installed my CD version and then the PalmDesktopWin414e upgrade version
that was supposed to work with the Zire on Vista. Immediately, this
appeared to work properly, and I tested data transfer back and forth.
However, the next day, Hotsync appeared to run normally but transfered no
information either direction. Maybe a Windows Update during the night
changed something?

I tried unistalling and installing exactly as I had the day before, but now
I can't get the Hotsync to work ever.

Any suggestion to save me the extra cost of scrapping my Zire for a new PDA
that is compatible with Vista? Thanks!

Jo Ellen I downloaded the Win62Beta but I got an error message the first time
the retried it again and it has been successful so far it hotsyncs just fine
and does transfer the information back and forth. You may have to unzip the
folder. Hope this helps.
