Securely comparing vista folders

I am looking for a harmless freeware utility for comparing the contents of
two Vista folders so as to spot any differences between them - Doug.

Without executing the file yourself your safe (secure) There are some
options available you can md5 hash the file or compare the file
properties or use a windows breifcase to compare .
