I had a computer that had an older version of windows 98 and it had some
issues. In an attempt to solve the problem, I went to the store and
purchased a full version copy of Windows XP SP2. I installed this OS
(Windows XP) on the computer on a new HD so the system was fresh & new (and
of course registered the product, etc) . After a couple of months, It became
apparent that there was some problems with the motherboard. The HD was
erased & reformated with no OS present, the remaining hardware was sold as
used scrap computer material. I ended up purchasing a new computer from a
retailer with a new OEM version of Windows. Now I have a "previously
enjoyed" but now "unused copy" of Windows XP still in the retail packaging
gathering dust. Can I sell this copy of Windows XP SP2 to another person
(even though the product key was previously registered to me) ??
Thanks.
