Hi,

I'd like to give my son his own user account in Vista Home Premium.
The account setup went well, BUT from within his new (normal user, not
Administrator) account, he can disable the virus scanner (Nod32).

Is there any way to specify as an Admin, that a specific program
cannot be exited by other users?

Thanks, Ulrich

Hi Ulrich,

My first question is why does he want to disable the antivirus program?
You could check with Nod32's manufacturer to see about locking it down, but
I'm not sure if they have that option available. Short of removing the icon
from his desktop, or possibly setting it to run as an administrator (which
may prevent it from starting up in his desktop-- instead of preventing him
from shutting it down), I'm not sure.

Re: virus scanner / user accounts

If you set a password in NOD32 (I have V3) it can only be disabled with
the password.

Thank you -- didn't think that far -- works perfectly! Best, Ulrich
