what does this mean?

A window opens quite frequently telling me that "ATI External Event Utility
EXE Module stopped working and was closed." Please explain and/or tell me
what I should do about it, if anything.

Not an expert on this field, but I'm sure ATI is going to have something
to do with Video drivers. I would try to see if there is a new driver
available for your video card. Worth a shot. Post back if this helps.

Also post any error messages from the event logs.

ATI External Event Utility : utility for the drivers ATI it manages the
ATI keyboard shortcuts This process can be stopped to free system resources.
