Desktop in Remote Desktop

Hello all in the MS world.



I have a client that swears that at one point he was able to drag and
drop files from his desktop PC (host machine) to his win 2k3 server's
desktop while using RDP. The thing is i think he is right, i could
have sworn that i've done that at some point. Alas, now i have no
luck



I know that it is possible to access drives from the my computer
console of the server, yet this would involve to many steps



I've been through all the settings in the Terminal server settings on
the host machine, and i've taken a look at the registry keys that are
in the "Current Control Set->Terminal Server" tree.



Does anyone know how to fix the issue.



Any advice or help would as always be appreciated.

Within the TS session, if he's got drive/disk redirection enabled in his
client, he could see his local drives, sure. \\tsclient\c, \\tsclient\d,
It's slow, but it works.

hi,
drag and drop isn't possible -may be are some third party software that are
doing that.

you can enable the mapped drives from client(check option on rdp connection
on local resources tab) and from server and when you enable that when client
are login on on rdp session will have a mapped drive for local drives on his
computer.

As Dragos writes, drag and drop is not a native feature of Windows
TS.
Maybe you have been using TSDropCopy?
