We have users that need to access community (resource) mailboxes on our
network. We have 6 Terminal Servers load balanced for our TS users. Each
time a User disconnects from a sessions and then logon, they have to remap to
the resource mailboxes via Outlook, even if they get re-pointed to the TS
server they previoulsy had a session with.
q 1.) Is there a way for their MB mappings to remain?
q 2.) Does the TS server tear down the mapi profile for each user after the
session ends? If not, they why wouldn't it remember the mailbox mappings?

Any insight truly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

RE: Outlook profiles and mb mappings

Normally the outlook settings are saved in the profile. Are you using roaming
ts profiles?

Normally the outlook settings are kept in the profile. Are you using roaming

There are some 'privileged users' that have Roaming profiles but the majority
do not. Is this the only possible way the user's will retain their mailbox
mappings?

RE: Outlook profiles and mb mappings

The settings are kept in the profile, local or roaming. Try using roaming
profiles for all users. Using roaming profiles is recommended when using load
balanced servers.

RE: Outlook profiles and mb mappings

The users are on on thin clients, there are no local profiles expect on the
TS servers themselves. Appears roaming profiles is the only way.

RE: Outlook profiles and mb mappings

I've tested this over and over. Even with Roaming profiles enabled, the
mapping to another mailbox does NOT stick after the sessions is closed. If
you logoff from the Session and then logon back on, the mappings are torn
down for some reason.

Is this a limitation?
