Hi everyone,

I've recently restored a DL380 G3 system state to another DL380 G3 in
a test lab. I have no mouse, keyboard or video above 640x480 (so I'm
using vnc to connect).

When I try to add/remove the keyboard, mouse and video drivers with
"!" marks next to them or install ATI Rage XL drivers windows returns
"failed to load drivers".

Hope someone can assist.

Thanks!

Re: Windows 2000 refuses to install any new drivers

This may work for you;.To remove devices you'll want to first uninstall the
device from Device Manger then power down and physically remove it.

To display hidden devices, non-Plug and Play devices, and devices not
attached to the computer (commonly known as "ghosted" or "phantom" devices)
From a command prompt;

set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1

then also from the command prompt;
start devmgmt.msc

Then, use Device Manager to remove or reconfigure these devices. Do not edit
the registry.
