Hello,

I've installed the printer driver to terminal server.
The client local printers are IP printers.
In active directory-> Environment -> Set Connect local printers.
In event there is an error Usrenv 1000. Can it be the problem?

The client printers aren't connected.

SilviaLl.

Re: local printer client sesion isn't shown

well,
if the server is windows 2000, you cant map network printer on a TS. I
sugest you to install the printer on TS like on a workstations and the users
will print on that.

Re: local printer client sesion isn't shown

A W2K TS has no problem with redirected network printers!
All it takes is a recent version of the rdp client.

Silvia, make sure that your clients run the latest rdp client,
which supports redirection of network printers. You can download it
here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=80111f21-
d48d-426e-96c2-08aa2bd23a49&displaylang=en

Also, can you post the description of the EventID 1000, source
Userenv? There are *very* many different causes, each with their
own solution.
See: http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1000&source=userenv

Are there any printer-related Events in the EventLog on the server
when the users connect?

Have you made sure that thr rdp clients are configured to redirect
the local printer?

Re: local printer client sesion isn't shown

The RDP client has enabled the tab Local Resources -> Connect automatically
.... -> Printers.
The Active Directori in Environment is set enable printers...
But I can't work with the printers.
The last RDP I can't install because I have installed the default Windows XP
SP2.

Re: local printer client sesion isn't shown

OK, so your rdp client supports network printers, and is configured
to redirect them.
How about my other questions?

Re: local printer client sesion isn't shown

when you said the printer is not connected, does it mean you can't see the
printer session in the remote desktop session or you are able to see the
printer but can't print out from the remote desktop session. if the second
situation is applied, please proceed to the steps below.

1. which OS is the client using. if it is using winXP, upgrade the remote
desktop connection software to 6.0.
2. is your server and client fully patched up with the
latest patch
