Help, my WinME System Restore has no 'Create a Restore Point'
option...

I know this is incredibly late to notice but it is true. I see no
option to (manually) create a Restore Point. I do get "automatic"
creation of restore points usually once a day, occasionally twice,
occasionally none. I thought that was a bit odd but it has "worked"
for me so far. In thelast 3 months I have used Restore points 3 or 4
times to recover from odd ball system (Near Death Experience) behavior

I finally got to checking Andy Rathbone's Microsoft Windows Me For
DUMMIES, both volumes, and it is pretty clear that I should.

In the first 5 or more years I've been using this computer I rarely if
at all (deliberately) used it. Now I find it indispensable and I would
like more control over the making and deleting of my Restore Points.

Anybody heard of this problem? Is this fixable with just editing the
registry? What is it's module name / cab file ? ??

Thank you very very much.

What exactly do you see when you open the System Restore applet? Start |
Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore. Knowing what you
do see could help those who might be able to help you. How have you been
using system restore to restore your system? For example how do you
launch it and from where? Are you saying that the System Restore GUI has
a radio button for "Restore my computer to an earlier time" but not one
immediately below it labelled "Create a restore point"?

Thank you for replying Mike.
I might have that rare disease called Swiss Cheese Vision. A half hour
ago, I was looking at what Google shows about NG activity and I
(thought I) saw no mention of this topic so I opened another one.
Sorry 'bout that.

I guess the short answer to you Mike, is I see no GUI, MMI or
whatchamacallit for ordering the system to make a restore point. And I
wonder if that is by design or just due to my Swiss Cheese Vision?

Please inform my ignorance.

And Thanks Again.

A Faithful
Narrative is reproduced here in its entirety with the hopes that many
will profit greatly from the observations of the greatest evangelist
ever to grace the American continent.

The Narrative is divided into three sections:

I. A General Introductory Statement,

II. The Manner of Conversions Various, Yet Bearing a Great Analogy,

III. This Work Further Illustrated in Particular Instances.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Rev. and Honored Sir,

Having seen your letter to my honored Uncle Williams of Hatfield, of
July 20, wherein you inform him of the notice that has been taken of the
late wonderful work of God, in this and some other towns in this
country, by the Rev. Dr. Watts, and Dr. Guyse, of London, and the
congregation to which the last of these preached on a monthly day of
solemn prayer; also, of your desire to be more perfectly acquainted with
it, by some of us on the spot: and having been since informed by my
Uncle Williams that you desire me to undertake it, I would now do it, in
a just and faithful a manner as in me lies.

SECTION I. A General Introductory Statement

The people of the country, in general, I suppose, are as sober, orderly,
and good sort of people, as in any part of New England; and I believe
they have

my soul united to any matter
whatsoever will make my body. It does not distinguish the necessary
condition from the sufficient condition; the union is necessary, but not
sufficient. The left arm is not the right.

Impenetrability is a property of matter.

Identity de numero in regard to the same time requires the identity of
matter.

Thus if God united my soul to a body in China, the same body, idem numero
would be in China.

The same river which runs there is idem numero as that which runs at the
same time in China.

513. Why God has established prayer.

1. To communicate to His creatures the dignity of causality.

2. To teach us from whom our virtue comes.

3. To make us deserve other virtues by work.

(But to keep His own pre-eminence, He grants prayer to whom He pleases.)

Objection: But we believe that we hold prayer of ourselves.

This is absurd; for since, though having faith, we cannot have virtues, how
should we have faith? Is there a greater distance between infidelity and
faith than between faith and virtue?

Merit. This word is ambiguous.

Meruit habere Redemptorem.78

Meruit tam sacra membra tangere.79

Digno tam sacra membra tangere.80

Non sum dignus.81

Qui manducat indignus.82

Dignus est accipere.83

Dignare me.84

God is only bound according to His promises. He has promised to grant
justice to prayers; He has never promised prayer only to the children of
promise.

Saint Augustine has distinctly said that strength would be taken away from
the righteous. But it is by chance that he said it; for it might have
happened that the occasion of saying it did not present itself. But his
principles make us see that, when the occasion for it presented itself, it
was impossible that he should not say it, or that he should say anything to
the contra

is, nor what I
myself am. I am in terrible ignorance of everything. I know not what my body
is, nor my senses, nor my soul, not even that part of me which thinks what I
say, which reflects on all and on itself, and knows itself no more than the
rest. I see those frightful spaces of the universe which surround me, and I
find myself tied to one corner of this vast expanse, without knowing why I
am put in this place rather than in another, nor why the short time which is
given me to live is assigned to me at this point rather than at another of
the whole eternity which was before me or which shall come after me. I see
nothing but infinites on all sides, which surround me as an atom and as a
shadow which endures only for an instant and returns no more. All I know is
that I must soon die, but what I know least is this very death which I
cannot escape.

"As I know not whence I come, so I know not whither I go. I know only that,
in leaving this world, I fall for ever either into annihilation or into the
hands of an angry God, without knowing to which of these two states I shall
be for ever assigned. Such is my state, full of weakness and uncertainty.
And from all this I conclude that I ought to spend all the days of my life
without caring to inquire into what must happen to me. Perhaps I might find
some solution to my doubts, but I will not take the
