License Manager doesn't display Temp licenses

I have my W2K3 DC registered as my License Server for TS. I currently have a
TS Farm (Citrix PS) of Windows 2000 Servers, where I can see the license in
the Terminal Server Licensing utility. However, I also created a new Farm of
Windows 2003 Servers that also host TS. My question is this; The W2K3 TS have
been configured to use this same DC as the License Server, so why don't I see
the Temporary licenses that have been given out to the W2K3 TS clients via
the TS Licensing utility in the Admin Tools?'

TIA

Re: License Manager doesn't display Temp licenses

Maybe your 2003 Terminal Servers are configured to use the Per User
licensing mode?

That is correct, they are. Do licenses not show up in "Per-User" mode? Or do
they display elsewhere?

Thanks.

Re: License Manager doesn't display Temp licenses

In Win2K3, there is no support for "Per User" license tracking.
In Win2k8 server there will be support for tracking "Per User" licenses.

What exactly does this entail? I imagine it works, as the system allows you
to put the TS in Per-User Mode. So, does this essentially mean that the
Per-User licensing is not enforced? I guess I could keep track of the
licensing in a spreadsheet.....

Re: License Manager doesn't display Temp licenses

Yes, that's exactly what it means: not enforced, not tracked, and
thus you have to keep track of the number of connecting users by
some other means.
To set an upper limit, be sure to make only the necessary user
accounts members of the local Remote Desktop Users group on the TS,
don't add Everyone or Domain Users.
