hi there

My pc is running very very slow so decided to reformat, partition my
hardrive to 400 and 65g and instal vista again.

My version of vista is a university copy so i burnt the file on both a
dvd rw and dvd r but none have been picked up. When u look at the cd
from my computer it recognises it as vista and when u run it it's fine
however...

The problem i have is that when i put in the cd and restart the pc then
wait for pc to boot from the cd it just doesn't do it. No page comes up
saying boot from cd yes? so it just logs on to windows as normal.

I put in my windows xp cd and the page came up fine saying boot from cd
so why doesn't my vista cd not?!

Thanks much apperciated

Re: reformatting pc and installing vista again

Are you burning a DVD Image of Windows Vista? Remember, depending on the
program you are using to burn the ISO image, you must open it into the
program.

Re: reformatting pc and installing vista again

Sounds like you need to go into the BIOS setup and
make the CD drive the first boot drive.

RE: reformatting pc and installing vista again

It sounds like your Vista discs aren't bootable. When you made them, did you
make them bootable?
