I have a Logitech USB webcam that worked great in XP x64 when I only had 2
gigs of ram.
I recently tried out Vista x64, using 8 gigs of ram, and had video
corruption (with the webcam). After researching the issue, I discovered KB
entries 941600 and 936003 which provide patches for this issue in Vista (USB
update rollup). This issue with webcams, Vista, and large amounts of memory
is discussed heavily in the Logitech forums.
Now I am back with XP x64, and 8 gigs of ram, and I am experiencing the same
exact issue. I have tested with another XP x64 machine with the same amount
of memory, with the same results. When I run with only 2 gigs, there is no
problem.
Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a patch out there to fix this same
issue in XP x64. I can only assume that the base problem is the same, but
despite my research I have not been able to find a solution. I have only seen
a few passing references to people with the same issue.
Does anyone know if there is an update out there for this? Removing the
memory is not an option of course. Thank you very much for any info.
