I am seeing an error in my EV/App "Could not open LDAP session to directory
'XXX.XXX.org' using local service credentials. Cannot access Address List
configuration information. Make sure the server 'xxx.xxx.ORG' is running."
The call is from an old DC that was demoted but somewhere there still resides
a call to the old server. How can I fix this problem? MS indicates to run
the Recipient Update Services. Where do I find such a tool?

RE: DC/Exchange LDAP errors

It sounds like you need to use NTDSUtil.exe to perform a metadata cleanup.
The how to article is here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/216498

I hope that helps!

RE: DC/Exchange LDAP errors

Looking through the DNS settings, I noticed an entry of the demoted server in
the Forward-lookup/_msdcs. How do I remove it from the _msdcs and have one
of the new server's take over that role?
