hello

here is my situation

multiple clients access my office windows server 2003 using remote desktop
web connection

the problem is that they can ONLY print on printers (usb and com ) attached
locally to their computers and not print on printers attached to other
clients

in short -- can you please provide me a solution where clients can print on
printers attached to other clients

thanks a lot in advance

Re: printing issue

This is by design. Redirected printers are only visible and
accessible within the session in which they are redirected.

Accessing other clients printers is not different on a TS than
between normal workstations, so you will have to share the printers
on the workstations and then let other users connect to them.

Re: printing issue

Well, explain this, then. I have approx. 300 clients accessing an 8 server
farm through load balancing.

Last Friday morning, I connected to each of the terminal servers to check
the logs through the tsmmc.msc app. I just happened to do this from the
server where all 84 printers in the company are installed. As soon as I
connected to each TS, all 84 session printers showed up on EVERY users
desktop, even changing their defaults.

It was a very stressful morning. I have disabled client printer redirection
until I get this resolved.

Re: printing issue

It's seldom a good idea to follow-up on someone else's thread,
because issue as seldom identical and it tends to confuse everyone.
In your case, it seems that you feel that my answer to Milan has a
meaning for your problem too, but it hasn't.
Milan's post, and my answer to it, are about *redirected* printers.
You seem to have a problem with printers installed locally on a TS.

Re: printing issue

Hello,
I am having the same problem. I have 2 out of 15 clients that cannot see
other people's shared printers from their sessions. I have their icon set to
permit the desired action but I only see the printers local to the pc being
connected when connected to the terminal server.

What could I be missing?
