My company hosts our software on a 10-15 W2K terminal server farm for our
clients. Access is controlled through an AEP NSP Tarantella secure gateway
appliance. Our clients log in to the NSP gateway and then they are directed
to their particular terminal server. The clients are locked down through
group policies in the domain and have barely any access at all. They log in,
the program launches for them and they work, etc.

We are talking with a potentional client who uses a web based program
currently and one thing they like about it is that as their users log in they
get messages popped up to them on a 'whiteboard'. We would like to match that
ability to gain them as a client.

I can see a way to do that through notepad.exe or wordpad.exe in the start
up of each user's profile. However in order for it to be somewhat interactive
but still keep them locked down in group policy we would have to have some
sort of elaborate batch files copying/deleting files to all users profiles,
etc. Before embarking on that process I was wondering if anyone knew of any
software for purchase that might fit this situation?

Re: Looking for some software for terminal server farm.

Do you mean some sort of Message of the Day software?
There's lots of them, most are freeware. Search Google.
