Clarification on TS Roaming Profile

Hello,

A couple of questions to clarify if I understand how to configure TS Roaming
Profiles:

1) If I use the ADUC and set the Path for the TS Roaming Profile on the (TS
Profile tab), shouldn't that automatically create the subdirectory for me?

If I use the syntax: \\server\sharename\%username% - it accepts the value,
but it never creates the subdirectory in the share.

I can set the Connect <drive letter> to \\servername\home drive
share\%username% on the Profile tab (ADUC) and it successfully creates the
subdirectory for the user variable, so I'm not sure if the TS Profile setting
is supposed to create the subdirectory.

2) If I used a GPO to provide the TS Profile path (Computer-Admin->Windows
Settings->TS->"Set Path for TS Roaming Profile") should this method
automatically create the subdirectory? Or does the Roaming Profile already
need to be created?

Thanks!

I would avoid that phrase. Either it's a roaming profile or it's a TS
profile.

Yes, when the user logs in to the TS box for the first time. Make sure your
permissions on the parent shared folder (both share & NTFS permissions) are
correct - I'd go with everyone=full control on the share, and grant
Administrators, System, and Users (or the AD group of your choice) Full
Control in NTFS.

I don't know - I've never used that. But I'd imagine so.

No - you don't create %username% folder manually.
