| I tried the synchronization approach you suggested. It works as far
| as sync-ing the web sites but I'm not sure what that does for me. My

| automatically open on boot-up and your approach doesn't seem do that,
| at least as far as I can determine. I'm not even sure what
| synchronizing a web site actually accomplishes. Enlighten me.
Synchronization is reading the site into TIFs (Temporary Internet Files)
so they can be read offline. (But you can still read them online too.
After they are synchronized, you may need to "IE, File menu, Work
Offline" to ensure you get the full benefit of having put them into
TIFs.) It can go beyond just the 1st page of the site, depending on the
setting chosen at...
(1) Open IE, & click its Favorites button.
Favorites open in the left pane.
(2) Click the Organize button in the Favorites pane.
An Organize Favorites requestor appears.
(3) Select a favorite site in the requestor's window.
A "Make available offline" box appears in the requestor.
(4) Check the "Make available offline" box.
A Properties button appears.
Now, click that Properties button. At the Download tab, you can set how
deeply to read in the site. Here is the blurb there...
"Specifies whether you want Internet Explorer to download more than just
the top-level page of the selected Web site. You can specify that you
want to download the site up to three levels deep. For example, if you
specify two levels deep, the first page and all the pages that it links
to will be downloaded. Specifying three levels downloads all the pages
linked to the second-level pages."
And, at the Schedule tab, apparently you can set the Task Scheduler to
do it automatically after you connect to the NET.

| It looks like you & Terhune solved that. And that may be the best way.
| BUT... have you ever tried this alternative...?...
|
| (1) Open IE, & click the Favorites button.
| Favorites should open in left pane of IE.
| (2) Click the Organize button.
| An Organize Favorites requestor will appear. Now, you
| can add favorites & create a folder to move them into.
| (3) Click the individual sites in the folder.
| The requestor will change to show a
| "Make available offline" box.
| (4) Check the "Make available offline" box for each site you
| want to synchronize. A Properties button also will appear.
|
| Now, when you choose Synchronize from the IE Tools menu, you will see
| each site get downloaded in turn! Using the Properties button that
| appeared at step 4, you can even have the Task Scheduler synchonize
| them
| on a schedule.
|
|| Thanks in advance
|
| You are welcome.
