Re: Vista does not recognize Anti-Virus software

John, I dumped Norton quite some time ago but when I try to open a Word or
Excel document, I get this message: 'Please wait while Windows configures
Norton Anti Virus 2006' and then I get another ' running virus scan'. I have
to wait 3-4 minutes before I can use Word or even Excel. Any suggestions?

Re: Vista does not recognize Anti-Virus software

Hi SG,
I clicked on the link you gave me and successfully uninstalled all the
Symantec stuff that was on my PC. I would never have found this link on my
own. Now my computer works 150% better/faster. My Word/Excel comes up
instantly and I'm not getting all those blankety, bank messages or waiting
for long periods of time. You're a genius! Thanks to all the others as well
for their insightful comments. I did have AVG on my computer so will use it
for now. Can't thank you all enough and you've made one gramma very happy !
Cheers,

Re: Vista does not recognize Anti-Virus software
