I had a Lavasoft product running on my laptop. It went haywire and started
blocking programs. I uninstalled it. Now, I can't load new software or even
make changes to the clock. It changed some of the Icons on programs. I do
not have a restore CD. Any ideas how to restore the old image?

The "blocked" settings are still there.
The thing to do now is re-install the product...then look at the settings
and "unblock" whatever it was that was dis-allowed.

I tried to reinstall but it didn't reinstall. Everything is still blocked.
Is there some way to restore the original settings other than from a restore
disc? Or is there a way to find a restore disc for 2000 professional? Any
advise would be appreciated.

- What exactly happens when you try to install something or
change the clock?
- Did you try to do this with the "Administrator" account?
- What happens when you do it in Safe Mode?

I suppose the first thing to try would be to reset the security of you
browser to all of its original defaults
control panel...internet options
look in the security, privacy and advanced tabs...and reset everything in
there to default
