I don't remember which program I downloaded and installed because I removed
it, since then I have a problem all .DAT files show that icon from that
program and in properties it says that it is a Video CD Movie Type and can't
open the file because it is a .dat file and not video file. How do I solve
it?

Could have been 'Nero - Burning Rom' or perhaps some other media
player. See if this posted by Alan Edwards help you out:

Important! Also there should be no '>' characters at the line
beginnings, like there where when i quoted Alan's post. It should
look like what's below instead.

-----copy below this line fix.reg------------
REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dat]

Re: File Type

No, that's an entirely different problem. I recommend you start a new thread
with a new post about your latest problem. Keeps things unconfused.
