Slow Terminal Server Performance, Improvement When Shadowing!

Hello,

We have a really strange problem with two WIN2K3 terminal servers.

Hopefully someone can help me with this problem because I really don't have
any options left.

The situation is like this:

We have two terminal servers in the Netherlands, about 20 people that work
in Belgium are using these servers over a 2 mbit connection.

This line is a dedicated line and traffic that comes from printers has lower
priority than 'normal' traffic.

According to the ISP the connection is not fully used.

The users that work in Belgium are complaing about a really slow performance
of the screen and programs (they see the screen being built up brick by
brick).

What did we check:

- We have checked the performance of the server, but there's nothing wrong
with it.

- We have checked all the thinclients (Athena), and all thin clients use 16
bit colors , compression is on, no themes, backgrounds etc. being used.

- We have checked the line and the only traffic that sometimes drops is the
printtraffic but that's because it can only use 40% of the total bandwith.

- All the other traffic (so none printertraffic) is having NO problems.

And now comes the strangest part, when we shadow a user everything is
working perfect.

People are asking me if I can shadow them all day so they can work normally .

Anybody has an idea what is going wrong?

Hopefully somebody can help us with this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Danny K.
