Re: Defender "Forgetting" Its Last Scan
Have you done a 'complete' scan rather than simply a quick scan? Also are
the defender definitions updating from Windows Update. Click Start>All
programs>Windows Update. In the windows update window click the view history
and check to see that defender definition updates are listed. If they are
not listed use windows update to download them. Most people leave windows
update to download/update at 3am. I don't. I tell windows update to download
anytime and inform me of updates so I can decide whether to install them or
not. This, to me, is the best option.
I have to admit that I used to have his same problem, especially just after
Vista was initially released, then all of a sudden it disappeared. However,
at the time I always did a 'quick' scan but I never took any notice as to
whether the problem disappeared after performing a 'full' scan. But it is
worth a try, unless anyone else has suggestions.
