I have been running Vista Home Premium with UAC turned off for some time now
with no problems. However, after I've turned it back on, reboot the system,
as requested, logged back on with my usual administrator log-on, I get a
balloon message that says "Your user profile was not loaded correctly" and
I've been logged on with a temporary account, yada, yada, yada.

The system looks like I've just started Vista up for the very 1st time
again. If I turn UAC back off & restart, everything comes up as I would
normally expect and all is okay.

Question is, why am I getting the afore mentioned message when I want to
turn UAC back on & how can I correct things here????

Thanks,
Jim

Re: Turn UAC back on problem

Some functions, such as installing a program, record the status of UAC
requirements when they are first used/installed.
If you created files, installed programs, etc that affect your User account,
without UAC then they may not function correctly when UAC is turned on, or
vice versa.

How did we ever get by without UAC?
