I have a Laptop plugged into a monitor...monitor been working up until
yesterday. Now the monitor is starting up with Windows XP Start up on screen
to then get a message saying "No Signal Input" then powering to orange light.
Laptop screen is still showing the usual main screen and working as
previous. I have checked the Fn Screen button, and this is not fixing the
problem. Anyone able to shed light on this problem.

You should repost this in one of the general/hardware related Vista groups
since it is not a security issue.

Re: Monitor "No Signal Input" Problem

to my understanding its like you are using a display card like nvidia. let
me try, 1. try to restart your system upon restart before start up boot
screen press F8 and choose enable vga, and this will make your pluged in
monitor not to go blank. and if your monitor is showing right. try to
restart again and dont worry if your monitor goes to no signal again but
right click on your desktop. choose properties, choose settings, and there
you will see two boxes choose the first one and choose reduce resolution to
800x600 and also choose the second one and do the same 800x600 and think
this will bring your monitor to its last state. hope this works.

Re: Monitor "No Signal Input" Problem

Yes we are using a nvidia display card. I did the F8 and got to the Dos bias
and saw what looks like my Hard Drive, DVD/CD Drive. Not sure what the other
line of info is: IIVA FE Slot 0640 v4118 so Esc out of that quickly (I have
no understanding of Dos etc). I tried reducing the resolution etc and to no
sucess. I have re posted this message under Hardware and Devices to see if
anyone else can shed some light on this one. Many thanks for your assistance.
