We have a remote office connecting to the main office through hardware vpn,
using RDP. The software is installed on the server. When we connect to the
terminal server with logon other than the administrator we are able to open
4 of the 5 modules no problem, but cannot run the other module. When we
logon on as administrator, we can run all the modules. Do we have to install
software on each one of the profiles of the remote users?

There is other software the integrates with the main software, and it does
not run as it should when logged on as a user other than the administrator.

I am new using Terminal Server, would appreciate any help!

Thank you for your help in advance!

Re: Software on Terminal Server Help!

Is the 5th module accessible to general users when accessed directly on the
server console? (without using TS). In other words, does this module require
admin privileges to run?

When the other software integrates with the main software does it need to
access/write into HKLM registry hive or in hardcoded folder locations?

RE: Software on Terminal Server Help!

I suggest you temporarily make one user an admin then:
- See if the software works
- If not, install the software again as that user. Verify it works, then
demote them back to a user and see if it still works. If it does, you may
need to install the software for each user. I have run into that on some
older software.
- If it fails to work after demoting, then download PrecessMonitor (link
below). Run ProcessMonitor in an admin session, filtering on the
application, and look for ACCESS DENIED on either a file/folder or registry
key. Then, adjust security on that file/folder/key. All my users are users,
not power users, not admins. This method has allowed me to leave them as
users even when certain software would otherwise require elevated privileges.
