For some reason, for the last month whenever I click on "Open containing
folder" in the find file dialog box, or when I get properties of a
shortcut and click "Find target", or anything that would normally open
up a window containing files, nothing happens.
Also, the system tray icon for Personal Web Sharing is failing to
appear. PWS still works in the limited capacity I use it to occasionally
share files with an old powermac (I haven't tried to use it for anything
else), but it's annoying to have to go drill down through the start menu
and open up the Personal Web manager to turn it on and off instead of
just being able to do it instantly from the start menu.
Could somebody suggest ways to restore these two functions? I have
absolutely no idea what could have caused them to fail. I don't even
recall installing or upgrading anything new that would screw them up.
I've checked for spyware with Lavasys Ad-Aware, and viruses with AVG,
both the free editions.
