Ghost for server

Hi all

Can anyone give me some advise of what to use in the way of ghost or
alternative for keep regular images of w2k3 servers. I have noticed that I
can't find a ghost version on the Symantec site

Acronis TrueImage (Server) works well.

Hi Glenn,

I would recommend these image products for server systems:

a) Acronis for Server http://www.acronis.com: great tool, reliable,
can restore to drives of different size and expand the partitions
accordingly, scheduled backups. BUT very expensive for servers.

b) DriveSnapshot http://www.drivesnapshot.de: it looks old fashioned,
but it is a functional admin tool working on all kinds of windows nt
based systems (even x64). They managed to use the internal windows
backup mechanisms for whole partitions and therefore the tools is just
like an admin gui for around 100 dollars - but it does a good job. You
can even map your images as drives. And you can use the command tool
for overnight batch runs that are fired in the good old windows
scheduler. It comes with a DOS based restore like any professional
system that will restore to different sized drives - I am not so sure
if it will expand the partition. So your drive controller should
support DOS drivers if you have exotic hardware to restore to (raid,
nas etc). Maybe you should do some testing before you buy...but I
think this is also true for acronis.

I want to add that driveimage works pretty good with BART PE . A no cost
must have for each admin.

I will second this. BART PE is very useful, since you get a real Windows
installer instance, can load RAID and SCSI drivers, NIC drivers, etc. at
boot. My DOS knowledge is pretty rusty, so its a lot easier to work with
this than the DOS bootdisks.
