Yes, I understand what's happening.
I *believe* that Vista is entitled to a free TS CAL from the built-
in pool, but I'm not 100% sure if that applies to all versions of
Vista, and the information is hard to find.
That's why I asked you to check the EventLog on the TS and run the
Terminal Services client with an Administrator account on Vista.
It is a known problem (on all clients, not only Vista) that you
need permission to write to the registry key which stores the
permanent license on the client, to be able to use one. And Vista
comes with AUC and runs the terminal services client with less user
rights as normal. So I'm thinking that maybe you can't get a
permanent license, because you can't store it.
So can you check this and post the results back?
