Re: Terminal Server - Dragon Software

How about a link?
A search for dragon software on Google gives a number of different
and totally unrelated companies, which all sell something that they
call "Dragon Software":

Dragon Software Homepage
Games and Japanese Animation
http://www.dragonsoftware.com/

Dragon Software
Software formatted on Dragon DOS virtual disks suitable for use
with the Paul Burgin's PC Dragon II emulator.
http://www.dragon-it.co.uk/dragon/dragon_software.htm

and then there's
www.greendragonsoftware.com and
www.reddragonsoftware.com

RE: Terminal Server - Dragon Software

If you are referring to Dragon Naturally Speaking, this would require
bi-directional audio for the application to be installed on the TS and made
available to users who don't have DNS installed locally. We have a client
beta testing bi-directional audio on our enhanced RDP Client. If this is
something you'd be interested in, feel free to contact me.

RE: Terminal Server - Dragon Software

Dear Patrick and Vera,

Sorry for the confusion in my reference to the software.

I am also referring to Dragon Naturally Speaking only. We have a medical
software which is running on TS-RDP. Medical staff wants to speak to the RDP
session to record their patient interaction details etc.

Patrick, can you please guide me further.

Regards.

RE: Terminal Server - Dragon Software

OK, I see. I'm working for a health care organisation as well, and
we have the same needs, although we use SpeachMike.
We use Citrix on top of TS, and the main reason was the need for
bidirectional audio.
Works OK, only problem being a slight delay when using the Stop -
Forward - Backward buttons.
Secretaries who are listening to the information which is dictated
by doctors (in order to type the information in the patient's
journals) sometimes miss the first couple of words of a sentence
when going backwards and forwards through the recording. So be sure
to test those aspects as well!

Dear Vera,

Thankyou verymuch.

As we don't have Citrix, we will explore further with your guidelines.

Regards.

Patrick,

I am also interested in running an app and DNS on a TS server while the USB
microphone is attached to the remote client PC. Could you please e-mail me
(dliu@csun.edu) your contact information? Thanks!

Dave

RE: Terminal Server - Dragon Software

have you tested it with DNS installed on the local machine and try to dictate
into TS?
TS does not always work. Is there a better solution than installing DNS on
the server and enabling bi-directional audio on the enhanced RDP client?
Second, DNS works faster and better installed on the local machine. If we
try to install DNS on the server with hundreds of users dictating on the
server, we need more servers!!

Any idea is appreciated.

thank you,
g
