For a week now my taskbar randomly relocates to the top, then to the right
of the desktop - and refuses to drag back to the bottom where I want it to
stay. By 'randomly' I mean that once it relocates then it will stay a day
or two then change position for another similar time period.
I posted for a remedy here and microsoft.public.win2000.registry but the
suggestions were to try dragging the taskbar back (a hopeless task) or to
clear my system of malware that was causing the problem.
I have since made all reasonable efforts to scan for malware. I was
learning to live with the annoyance. However, today, July 23rd, the taskbar
suddenly relocated to the bottom where I'd like it to stay.
Before it wanders off again, please advise (1) how I can lock it into
position (2) & suggest what safeguards I can employ (3) & suggest why the
taskbar refuses to drag back down the way it's designed to (it does drag but
only to expand & not to change its position).
