USB Flash Disk Driver might be currupt

When I run the setup file of a USB Flash Disk Driver, a message on the screen
informs me that the driver is already installed but a USB thumb drive that is
in a USB socket is not recognized by W98. When I checked Device Manager, I
see no WARNING of a problem there. You suggestions please.

Use usbview.exe to detect your USB hardware. It is available on your
Win98 CD.

Otherwise there is UVCView which "is based on the USBView tool" and
which "uses the May 2005 USB.org vendor list":
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/stream/vidcap/UVCView.mspx

If Usbview or UVCView detect your flash drive, but W98 doesn't
recognise it, then you have a software issue.

What about entering Device Manager and erasing the driver then reinstalling it.
