Win2k3 64 Bit Licensing..Critical!

Guest
I have a windows 2003 64 Bit Evaluation Server installed running SQL2005 for
a specific application. We were forced to upgrade immediately from 32bit due
to a requirement from our outside vendor. We used the Evaluation version
until our VLK key came in. We now have the VLK and would like to upgrade the
license. How do I do this without screwing up the SQL 2005 install which is
running our application?

Thank you!
Fred

Re: Windows 2003 64Bit Evaluation License set to expire

you should be able to do an in-place upgrade IF the license hasn't yet
expired. Insert the VLK CD and directly upgrade.

If for some reason you can't do that, do a "repair install". Your settings
and installation should be preserved.

See my blog for details - I discuss it in the context of XP x64, but the
requirements are the same.
