I just installed XP Pro 64x on a new build. When I try to access the
internet, I get a "cannot find server" message. When I switch it back to my
old computer, I have access. Windows went through the internet wizard and I
tried three versions of set up, and still can not get connected. Any
suggestions?

New build
clean install of Windows Xp Pro 64x
MOBO Gigabyte GA P35-DS3L P35+ICH9
Broadband, no password needed, on LAN.

Thanks

It sounds like you need an NIC driver. What do you see in Device Manager
under Network Adaptors? Is there a yellow bang on the device?

RE: Internet "Cannot find server": new install and build

Under the drivers, the Ethernet is has a big yellow question mark. I also
failed to load the CD for the motherboard drivers and chipset. After they
are loaded, I will try the internet again.

Thanks

problem installing the chipsets drivers. Ethernet showed installed, by I
repaired it. The connections is not found. Network connections test finds

Re: Internet "Cannot find server": new install and build

Re: Internet "Cannot find server": new install and build

It now works. I unplugged the power for 30 minutes while I rearranged my
work area. When I plugged it back in it worked. Previously, I unplugged the
power for 2 minute with no access.

Thanks to all.
