I have these two win 2003 servers, exact install / license.
One of which I've terminal desktoped into for the last year and half
with no problems many many times.
The other, I've rarely if ever, but I just enabled remote access and
it works fine.
Back about a month ago (and not sure if related - likely not) I
remoted into another domain. After that I started gettting these
errors when attempting to connect to the first server:
The remote session was disconnected because the local computer's
client access license could not be upgraded or renewed.
When I tried to connect from another client Id get the same error
eliminating my client.
When I attempt to remote to the second server.. No problem.
Oddly, when I check for TS licenses on the first server, I did see
something about a windows 2000 license and a temporary license on the
first server, but nothing on the second server.
Perhaps foolish, but I de-installed TS licensing on the first server.
and now I get this error when I attempt to connect to it:
No terminal service license is available.
The admin that gave me the software said we have group licensing from
MS and that the servers come with two free TS licenses.
Following another post, I've also removed the MSLicensing/Store key
from the registry. Did not help.
When I check licensing on the second server ( which I can connect to),
it says no licensing for this domain or somethign to that effect. Same
message on the first (not working) server.
Question, could it be that TS will only work so many times or is it
for x number of days which would not make sense since my second server
is working allow me to connect into it.
Thanks for any help or information.
