Windows 2000 sp4. We have 2 separate environments for testing QA and IDE.
Both machines are built identically; one is a vmware and the other is on real
hardware. We are trying to install a msi package that registers a .dll file
and it fails on the hardware box not the vmware box. I have tested the
permissions, depends.exe and regmon, to no avail.
“RegSvr32 Loadlibrary (“c:\mycom\mycom.dll) failed. A dynamic link library
(DLL) initialization routine failed” is the general error. However in
dependency walker I am getting an error on the KERNEL32.DLL function IsTNT –
where on the vmware box it does not error. I am not a developer but the
difference in the .dll load behavior is concerning. I have just about given
up on this…
