Hello,

I have a server running Windows Server 2003 STD edition acting as our DC, AV
as well as some other services. Every now and then I lose the ability to RDP
to this box until I reboot it. What happens is I open RDP, put in the server
name to connect to and hit connect. It then thinks for a few seconds and then
just goes back to the original screen where you put in the computer you want
to connect to. No error message, happens from multiple computers. The only
way I can get it to work again is to reboot the server which is very
troublesome as its also our File and Print server at which everyones desktops
and my docs folders are redirected to. Please help!

Thanks

Re: RDP not working

Are you the only one connecting to this TS server, or are other users
connecting as well? What version of the rdp client are you using? Just in
case you should download the latest rdp 6.0 client:

Re: RDP not working

My account is the only one connecting. I have gone to TSADMIN locally on the
box and logged out any disconnected sessions just to be sure that wasnt the
issue. Also, one of the boxes I am trying to connect from is a Vista machine
which I would assume is running the latest RDP client? I dont see any way to
tell the version, but being that its Vista I'm assuming its 6.0..... ?

Re: RDP not working

Yes, on Vista you should have 6.0, the new one will come out with Vista SP1.
Have you checked qwinsta on the server to see if it is listening?

Thx. Alice
