Is Internet content cached on HD or in the memory?

When I watch video clips on youtube, it takes time to download it, so that
when viewing it for the second time it plays without downloading so it must
be cached somewhere. Is it cached on disk or in the memory?

The content is stored in your Temp folder. For example many videos
are in Flash format and if you monitor your temp folder you'll likely
see a module with .Flv extension while the video is being streamed.

Not always, especially with streaming video or audio. Depending on DRM
settings, it may only buffer in memory.
