Hi,

if this question isn´t belong to this Newsgroup, excuse me.

I have a Windows 2000 Server SP4, fully updated, configured with Terminal
Server to Windows XP clients.
As I know, there is no need to configure a TS Licensing Server to my Windows
XP clients, so, I don´t have any TS Licensing in my network.

I have installed Citrix PS 4 (fully updated) in my TS and a Citrix License
Server with to 70 licenses installed.

Every day 63 clients access the PS 4. When more than that try to access they
receive the following error “ Cannot connect to the Citrix Metaframe Server.
The Citrix Metaframe Server is not available, please try again later.”

I have applied several Citrix Hot fixes and the last Rollup but the problem
persist.

My question is if anyone see that error before and if is a TS problem.

Thank you.

Luiz

Re: TS/Citrix Access Problem

You have misunderstood the licensing requirements.
You must install and activate a TS Licensing Server. But you do not
need to buy or install TS CALs on it.
Windows XP Pro clients receive a free TS CAL from the built-in pool
of licenses on the TS Licensing Server. Without a LS, your server
will refuses your client connections after a while.
Check the EventLog on the server, it will warn you that it cannot
locate a Licensing Server.
You have to install the LS on your Domain Controller.

Re: TS/Citrix Access Problem

Yep - I pretty much have the same setup, Luiz...Citrix server is running
Win2000sp4 as well.

Make sure to have a TS Licensing Server somewhere in your organization; mine
is running on a windows 2003 R2 server.

Re: TS/Citrix Access Problem

If Luiz' TS is running 2000 Server then the TSLS can be 2000 or 2003.

Make sure it can find the TSLS and that the mode is set.

You can hard code via Registry since, depending on your version of the
TSLS (domain or enterprise), it may be see the server

You can blow out the registry key for TSLic on the client and reboot
