Is it possible to install x86 updates on an x64 version of Windows Vista?

I ask because I tried using Office Live Workspace today and it installed
three hotfixes during its installation. These hotfixes did not specify that
they were for x64 systems in their title, so it made me nervous.

Does anyone know?

Thanks,

John

John:
Office is an application which is 32-bit which is compatible with Vista
x64 (operating system). Have a great day.

Re: x64 Windows Updates

Yes, I understand that.

I'm talking about windows updates. Office Live Workspace has you install
three windows updates in this self-extracting package. I just want to make
sure it didn't install updates for Vista x86 onto my Vista x64 system.

Re: x64 Windows Updates

John:
Office updates are installed through Windows Updates along with some
optional driver updates.

Re: x64 Windows Updates

No, it shouldn't do that. There is code inside the system that can be
checked for the proper version, you can expect trouble if you try and update
from another machine, though! It will not read minds!
