RDP connection issue

I have 10 Citrix 4.5 terminal servers

Users all work fine using ICA connections

However I want a few users to have RDP access for some functionality not
available through ICA

When they connect via RDP they get

"The remote computer disconnected the session because of an error in the
licensing protocol."

They have permissions on the rdp-tcp connector, and obviously TS licensing
works as that is required for ICA connections - and they connect fine with ICA

Nothing in eventvwr.

Admins can connect fine

Any thoughts ?

Re: RDP connection issue

I'm not sure if this is your problem, but it's worth to check it
out.
When you make an rdp connection to a Citrix PS server, you actually
need a Citrix license! And a client cannot share the same license
when they run both an ica and a rdp connection. So maybe you are
short on Citrix licenses?

Documented here:

I'm curious.. What functionality is available via RDP and not ICA? It's
usually the other way around.... ;-)
