From the Windows Explorer menu bar, I select Tools/Folder Options.../View
Tab/Advanced settings: and see that the check box labeled "Show pop-up
description for folder and desktop items" is CHECKED. It always has been
since I installed Windows 2000. Nonetheless, I do not get pop-ups when I
hover my cursor over any type of file in Windows Explorer or on my
Desktop(CPU usage ~5%, hover time can be minutes). I have the desktop toolbar
on my taskbar. If I progress to a file via the desktop toolbar and hover my
cursor over that file, I DO get a pop-up description. I'm running Windows
2000 5.00.2195 totally up-to-date with automatic updates enabled. Why don't I
get pop-up descriptions in Windows Explorer or on my Desktop? Thanks.
